This is a full-time, onsite role for an experienced professional who is passionate about leading civil construction projects from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in civil construction management, is a natural leader, and can balance the demands of scope, schedule, and budget—while never compromising on safety or quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage all phases of civil construction projects
  • Determine manpower, materials, and equipment needs while maintaining budget alignment
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project specifications
  • Supervise project staff and provide ongoing guidance and oversight
  • Monitor compliance with safety protocols and construction quality standards
  • Oversee documentation processes including RFIs, change orders, and progress reporting
  • Maintain proactive communication with senior management, architects, and project owners
  • Ensure that all projects meet or exceed regulatory and safety requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in civil construction
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of project management platforms such as Procore, Foundation, Bid 2 Win, and Trimble is preferred
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and construction safety and quality standards
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • PMP certification is a plus

Traffic Engineering Section Lead – Columbia, South Carolina

Dominic Workforce Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering firm to recruit a Traffic Engineering Section Lead for an exciting onsite opportunity in Columbia, SC. This is a pivotal role for a highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer ready to lead and grow a traffic engineering practice across South Carolina.

About the Role:
As the Traffic Engineering Section Lead, you will serve as both a technical leader and a business development driver. You will oversee complex traffic projects, mentor junior engineers, and foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your experience to expand market presence and shape the strategic growth of a well-respected firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic growth of traffic engineering services across South Carolina
  • Manage and design a variety of traffic-related projects, including signal plans, signing/pavement markings, crash analyses, traffic studies, and MOT (Maintenance of Traffic)
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; foster new market opportunities
  • Coordinate with SCDOT, government agencies, contractors, and consultants
  • Prepare and lead winning proposals and business development efforts
  • Oversee staffing, resource allocation, and financial management for the section
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff; participate in hiring and performance reviews

Must Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering design, planning, and analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Active South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong familiarity with SCDOT policies, standards, and practices
  • Proven experience working with SCDOT on traffic-related projects
  • Proficiency with traffic analysis/simulation software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, HCS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
  • Existing client relationships within South Carolina
  • Experience with roadway lighting design
